For over half a decade, hit television show LOST has captured the hearts and attention of millions around the world. With a cult like audience and following, LOST has scooped up countless awards and accolades. Now with the mega hit TV show coming to an end in less than a week, a bubbling hip-hop artist from the way of Toronto, Canada has paid tribute to LOST with the cover art for his debut single, “Talk to Me” featuring Knoc-turn’al and Sabrina released through Hoopla Media Group/LRT.
That’s right, 20 year-old artist Mazur can be seen on the cover (by Urbanista Graphix), with a bright orange background sitting at a breakfast table as a beautiful young girl pours him a bowl of cereal – not just any cereal, no, the box can be seen containing the Dharma logo. On the show, The Dharma Initiative is a scientific research project, which had a large presence on the island for nearly three decades.
“Talk to Me” is an up-tempo, club and radio friendly track which features west coast legend Knoc-turn’al and the beautiful songstress, Sabrina. Readers and listeners may remember Knoc-turn’al for his penmanship and vocal work with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Timbaland, Ice Cube and countless others. Sabrina is currently building her own impressive resume, with multiple soundtrack works and other entertainment ventures with Wide Awake/Death Row Records.
Much like the television show itself, the decision to include the LOST based Dharma Initiative logo on the cereal box seen on the single cover art is currently a bizarre mystery with no answers provided. When attempted, we failed to reach Mazur for comment.
However, we have a feeling we haven’t heard nor seen the last chapter in this strange story, instead, it’s likely just beginning – especially when the network which has aired LOST for over six years, ABC gets word of Mazur and his creative, yet peculiar cover art.
